The article reports on the plan of cable company and Internet service provider Comcast Corp. to test an equipment based on the Data Over Cable Service Interface Specification version 3.0 (DOCSIS 3.0) in the U.S. This technology can combine multiple 6-Megahertz channels into one unit. It provides the speed of up to 100 Megabits per second or higher and have an Internet Protocol (IP) video headend and DOCSIS 3.0 boxes built to the Residential Network Gateway requirements.
