ABSTRACT
The article looks at results of the survey conducted by "Progressive Grocer" on strategies and products employed by grocers to differentiate and boost traffic to their greeting cards category. Approximately one-quarter of respondents reported devoting less than 20 feet to the category. Margin performance ranked as the most important factor in greeting card category management, as cited by more than two-thirds of respondents. According to some retailers, cards are good sale, with high margins.
