ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the introduction of the new paint scheme of Kansas City Southern (KCS) on March 20, 2007 in a ceremony featuring GE ES44AC 4650. The colors first appeared on the Southern Belle passenger train of KCS, which operated from 1940 until 1969. The paint scheme will be applied to 30 EMD SD7OACe and 30 ES44AC locomotives. The company has also decided to purchase 1,050 covered hoppers and 150 covered steel coil cars.
