Butadiene contract finally settles

The article details the price trends at the commodity petrochemicals markets as of April 23, 2007. Second quarter butadiene contracts have been agreed having a rise of €25/tonne, taking rates to a €905/tonne. The market is reported to be tightening due to turnarounds at extraction units and crackers. European propylene rates were unchanged at €870 to 895/tonne making an Asian equivalent of $1,090 to 1,140/tonne. European benzene has been fluctuating and mixed xylene is extremely subdued.
