The article reports that the Asian acrylonitrile (ACN) spot prices have climbed and are expected to rise to $1,700/tonne in the second quarter of 2007. With deep-sea supply from the U.S. and Europe decreasing because of upcoming shutdowns and unplanned outages, market speculates that prices can only trend upwards. Higher propylene feedstock numbers in the U.S. have also boosted Asian ACN prices.
