ABSTRACT
The article reports on the joint venture between Lenzing and Indian conglomerate Modi Group to build a viscose fibers plant in Maharashtra state industrial park near Mumbai, India. High import duties on products and strong demand from Indian customers facilitated the company's decision to produce fibers locally in India. Lenzing will hold a majority stake in the joint venture, which has been named Modi Fibers.
