The article presents a market outlook for Degussa, the specialty chemicals producer based in Germany, for 2007. It may not be able to repeat its earnings of $2.4 billion in 2006 that resulted partly from its divestment of its construction chemicals segment, according to the company's final annual report. However, chairman Klaus Engel forecasts a slight increase in year-on-year sales and an improvement in earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) in 2007. Group EBIT posted an increase of 19% in 2006.
