ABSTRACT
The article reports on the proposed specification called CableLabs to let boxes receive over-the-air digital broadcast signals which helps operators in retransmission negotiations from the American Cable Association in the U.S. The CableLabs off-air project could give operators a way to provide broadcasting signals without necessarily signing a retransmission agreement. The technology could take the form of a set-top with a built-in off-air tuner.
