ABSTRACT
The article reports on the objection towards the franchising bill of AT&T in the U.S. The competition between cable and telephone companies for customers has been marked by guerilla stunts. The two Illinois municipalities have gotten into the guerrilla game to protest a bill which they believe will strip them of the needed local authority over video providers. The protest resulted in a satisfactory compromise that made the incumbent operators pay fees on the latter.
