ABSTRACT
The article provides information on the characteristics of the new voice on demand (VOD) metadata 2.0 released by CableLabs Inc. in the U.S. According to the author, metadata 2.0 eliminates the need of double pitch, minimizes bandwith allocation, allows alteration and offers an advantage on the packaging system. In addition, it also improves search features, imparts a multilingual support and allows the utilization of multiple display formats.
