ABSTRACT
The article reports on the largest deployment of switched digital video technology as claimed by Cablevision Systems Corp. in the U.S. cable industry. Cablevision launched packages of nine international programming to be sent to viewers. Meanwhile, Comcast Corp. which is the nation's biggest cable-system operator said it had started trials of such technology. Cablevision launched iO International which is a group of nine in-language packages featuring channels from around the world. INSET: How It Works.
