ABSTRACT
The author recounts her experience creating a cuisine for cancer patients and for her father who was suffering from throat cancer. When her father complained that he was upset not being able to eat his favorite foods, she was determined to make something that he would enjoy. She experimented with dishes that had a balance of fats, acids, salty and sweet. When she was asked to cook food on a retreat for cancer patients, she shared some of the recipes her father enjoyed.
