ABSTRACT
The author recounts an experience going to a carnival as part of the annual Blossom Festival in Chagrin Falls, Ohio. He had saved five dimes to spend at the carnival. After riding the Ferris Wheel, he saw a white plastic crucifix that glowed in the dark with an emerald-green ribbon around it at one of the carnival games. Despite his determination to win the crucifix, he lost three dimes in the game and started to walk away. Then he saw a dime on the ground and headed back to the game.
