ABSTRACT
The author recounts her experience of raising a puppy with deformed front leg and no right foreleg. The puppy was rescued by her teenage son who saw it being smothered to death by its mother. She was at first hesitant to take in the dog considering the financial problems she is facing as a jobless single parent. When she took to the puppy to a veterinarian, she discovered that it has damaged throat and voice box.
