The article reports on the marketing strategy used by AOL LLC in the U.S. Under the marketing scheme, consumers who buy a cable modem at retail, will have an opportunity to hook for a free trial of the high-speed data service. It would also allow potential subscribers to set up a broadband connection without any operator intervention.
