ABSTRACT
The article comments on initiatives to gauge the viewership of advertisements. EchoStar Communications and Google confirmed their move to create an automated system for buying, selling and measuring the impact of television advertisements that run on its Dish Network. DirecTV is negotiating with Google about the scale of television advertising. The implications of such developments for the conventional ratings survey are discussed.
