The article reports that the Metropolitan Police is about to complete the biggest recruitment drive in its history by signing up 2,500 police community support officers (PCSOs) in a year. According to the article, the drive was necessary to fill up the Safer Neighbourhoods teams that have recently been rolled out for every ward in London, England. It is stated that the recruitment strategy included several new high-technology elements, such as using podcasts and online simulators.
