ABSTRACT
The article reports on the improvement of the Iraqi Army in terms of protecting the country from insurgents. It says that soldiers from the 3rd Battalion, 5th Brigade, 6th Iraqi Army Division, are stepping up pressure on insurgent leaders in the Karkh section of Baghdad. It emphasizes that besides protecting the checkpoints leading into and out of Baghdad's International Zone, the battalion is also responsible for about a four square-kilometer area of Karkh.
