ABSTRACT
The article discusses the development of financial planning firms. The author notes that due to factors such as business growth, client demands and market opportunities, solo practitioners are forced to consider hiring additional staff to meet these needs. Also noted is the fact that a planner may have to hire a sales manager to help a planning team deal with rejection. The author presents various criteria to consider when hiring a new financial planner, including ability to acquire and service new clients, and ability to self-manage.
