ABSTRACT
The article discusses the impact of local competition on appliances maker Haier Group in China. The author says that the global push of company chairman Zhang Ruimin has been overshadowed by the big problem of heavy competition at home. His company is being attacked by two kinds of companies, like local firm Little Swan and foreign brands like Whirlpool and Siemens that are finding better access to the Chinese home.
