ABSTRACT
This article provides information on the advertising campaign launched by online pharmacy Drugstore.com on November 1, 1999. The company's television spots portray busy consumers with little time to shop for incidental items such as deodorant and hemorrhoid treatment. Drugstore.com is spending U.S. $10 million on the campaign that, in addition to the broadcast television network and cable television spots, includes online, radio and outdoor advertisements. Fallon sibling Duffy Design & Interactive, handles the online advertising. Advertising is a necessity for the marketer which faces competition not only from other online drugstores but dot-coms in other categories.
