ABSTRACT
The article discusses the founding of The Satellite Project by Lower Left, a dance collaborative based in San Diego, California that creates and practices choreography, improvography, and improvised performances using several techniques. Lower Left was established by four dance artists, such as Nina Martin, Jane Blount, Mary Reich, and Karen Schaffman, while The Satellite Project was launched in 2005 with Lionel Pokin, Keith Hennessy, Nina Martin and BodyCartography.
