This article focuses on the trends in petrochemicals market such as pricing. Asian prices of naptha are notional at $620-1621/ tonne. The second half 2007 May contract is valued at $664-667/tonne. Spot propylene is steady, at €860-880/tonne, with no deals done. Second-quarter 2007 contract discussions continue in Europe's butadiene market. Numbers may rise by €30/tonne to €900/ tonne, largely because of plant shutdowns.
