Swiss agrochemicals firm Syngenta is to acquire Germany's Fischer group for $67 million (€50 million) on a cash and debt-free basis. Under a wage deal, 30,000 chemical workers in Eastern Germany will receive a 3.6% wage increase from April 1, 2007 with a one-off payment of 0.7% for 13 months.
