ABSTRACT
The article reports on the profits posted by Taiwan-based Formosa Chemicals & Fiber Corp. (FCFC) in 2006. FCFC recorded an 18.5% fall in net profits in 2006 from a year earlier, despite buoyant sales. Profits dropped to New Taiwan dollars (NT$) 32.5 billion ($985 million, €739 million) as a result of the company selling off more shares in sister company Formosa Petrochemical last year compared with 2005.
