Kingboard profits rise

The article reports on the operating profits posted by Kingboard Chemical in 2006. The firm's chemicals business saw earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) rise by 102.5% to Hong Kong dollars (HK$) 342 million ($44 million, €33 million), while revenue increased by 25.5% to HK$4 billion. At group level, EBIT rose by 47% to HK$3 billion, after excluding a HK$4.8 billion gain from the spin-off of its laminate business and a HK$49.7 million discount on acquisition.
