ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the plan of Bill Hambrecht, co-founder of WR Hambrecht & Co. to conduct initial public offerings (IPO) in the U.S. market which he calls OpeniPO or dutch auction IPO. OpenIPO or dutch IPO was set by Hambrecht to fulfill its goal of changes in the marketplace and to reach out to the masses. Clay Corbus, co-chief executive at Hambrecht, stated the significance in working with smaller IPOs because it gave small companies direct access to investors.
