ABSTRACT
The article presents physician executives' complaints on the regulations of the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) concerning patient safety in the U.S. Such regulations such as medication reconciliation are said to disagree with the real needs of the patients despite safety. Inaccessibility of drugs is also observed, which made them unable to respond to emergency situations. Workrooms with critical equipment are found to be overcrowded during busy hours.
