ABSTRACT
The article presents an overview of the progress of CRASH-2, a large placebo-controlled trial being performed in trauma patients at risk of significant hemorrhage. The study examines the effects of antifibrinolytic treatment on death and the need for blood transfusion. CRASH-2 aims to recruit 20,000 patients worldwide and the recruitment began in May 2005. It details the outcome of the study as of May 2006.
