ABSTRACT
The article describes the Monthly Retail Trade Survey (MRTS), which aims to provide information on the performance of the retail trade industry on a monthly basis and represent an important indicator of the state of the economy in Canada. The MRTS offers estimates which measure the health and performance of the sector. In addition, results of the survey enable retailers or organizations to compare their performance against similar types of businesses and marketing purposes.
