Ericsson all but sews up Tandberg deal

The article reports on the acquisition of Tandberg Television (TT) by Ericsson Inc. in the U.S. in 2007. On March 19, Ericsson received acceptances and purchased 12.3 million shares of TT that represented 87.4 percent. On March 7, TT affirmed that it recommended its shareholders to accept a $1.4 billion offer from Erisson. According to Ericsson, a combination with TT will enable it to attack the Internet protocol television sector.
