ABSTRACT
The article focuses on a news report from the Educational Testing Service (ETS) which concluded that U.S. workers may be significantly less illiterate in 2030 than they are in 2007. The report cited the entry of less-educated immigrants into the workforce, replacing the retiring baby boom generation. Aside from this reason, the report also cited disparities in skill levels, economic changes and demographic shifts as the other factors that would affect the U.S. economy.
