ABSTRACT
The article comments on a paper by G. Bahmanyar and colleagues which examines indirectly the influence of the pattern of gastritis induced by Helicobacter pyroli infection on the association between the infection and esophageal adenocarcinoma. The researchers found that Helicobacter pylori-infected duodenal ulcer patients had an increased risk of esophageal adenocarcinoma, whereas there was no association between gastric ulcer and esophageal adenocarcinoma.
