ABSTRACT
The article reports on the specification revision of the standard practice for identification marking on the U.S. military property issued by the United States Department of Defense (DOD). The Unique Identification (UID), a set of data for tangible asset that is globally unique and unambiguous, ensures data integrity and data quality throughout life which support all the required business applications. Furthermore, UID will help DOD achieve their higher states of operations.
