ABSTRACT
The article reports on the lack of skilled workers in the travel industry in Australia. The staff shortage is stopping travel agents from setting up new agencies, with no experienced agents available to man the new shops. As a result, retailers are sorting to buying existing businesses from disillusioned owners in order to expand.
