ABSTRACT
The article presents information about the song entitled "The Twist." The song was written by and originally recorded by Hank Ballard in 1959 as the B-side to a rather ballad called "Teardrops on Your Letter." Ballard started as a singer in his native Detroit, Michigan during the early 50's. His first exposure came as a member of a group called "The Royals."
