ABSTRACT
The article focuses on Jan-Ru Wan, a U.S.-based textile artist born in Taiwan, brought up within the Taoist and Buddhist traditions. She earned a bachelor's degree in fine arts from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and then a master's degree at the University of Wisconsin. Her textile installations include "Ripple of Resonance," a man's shirt, a child's dress and a dress for a woman displayed at the Louise Jones Brown Gallery at the Duke University.
