ABSTRACT
The article features Ajay Bijli, founder of PVR, a chain of modern cinemas in India. He got the idea of starting a chain of cinemas during his honeymoon in Orlando, Florida in 1990. Casting aside a future of managing a fleet of 500 trucks and a slew of tough drivers, Bijli approached Australia's Village Roadshow for movie house technology. He has moved into smaller towns such as Latur and Aurangabad and plans to build 200 budget multiscreen halls in more than 70 cities in the next five years.
