The article reports that Germany's Chemical Industry Association has forecast a slowdown in the growth of the German chemicals industry in 2007. This is not a recession but a downturn in the growth that was quite strong in the previous two years. This downturn can be traced to the cooling-down of the U.S. economy and the first effects of the tax and levy increases on the economy.
