ABSTRACT
The article cites a research study that compares the effect of antipsychotic drugs and placebo in the patients of Alzheimer disease (AD), psychosis and aggression. A randomized controlled trial was conducted of 421 outpatients, who had AD or probable AD. The researchers came to the conclusion that in patients with AD and psychosis, aggression, or agitation antipsychotic drugs did not differ from placebo for time to discontinuation of treatment.
