ABSTRACT
The article cites a research study focusing on the role of community-based occupational therapy (OT) in improving daily functioning in older patients with dementia. A randomized controlled trial of 135 patients was conducted for this study. It was observed that after 6 weeks, patients in the OT group had better motor and process skills. The researchers came to the conclusion that OT improves daily functioning in older patients with dementia and improves competence in caregivers.
