ABSTRACT
The article cites a research study focusing on the efficacy of intensive atorvastatin therapy in patients with stable coronary heart disease (CHD). The study was conducted through a randomized controlled trial. About 10 001 patients of 35 to 75 years of age, who had clinically evident CHD were studied under the trial. It was found that in patients with stable CHD, intensive atorvastatin therapy was more effective than moderate atorvastatin therapy for reducing cerebrovascular events.
