The article announces the publication of a consumer guide to toxic chemicals in cars by the Michigan-based nongovernmental organization Ecology Center. The guide, which is made available on its HealthyCar Web site, provides information on chemicals detected in more than 200 of the most popular 2006 and 2007 car models. The authors of the guide also claim that chemicals of primary concern are bromine, chlorine, lead and heavy metals.
