Pair join up for R&D biotechnology push

The article reports that chemical firms BASF and Monsanto have set up a long-term research and development collaboration covering plant biotechnology in London, England. The two companies will focus on development of high-yielding crops and crops that are more tolerant to adverse environmental conditions, such as drought. Over the life of the collaboration, they will fund a dedicated pipeline of yield and stress-tolerance traits for corn, soybeans, cotton and canola.
