PTA boost for Shanghai

The article reports that Samsung Petrochemical has opened a new office in Shanghai, China, to increase its purified terephthalic acid (PTA) sales. Samsung exports more than half of its 1.8 million tons per year output in South Korea to China. The move came after China's PTA production increased sharply, with several units planned or brought on stream especially in the eastern part of the country.
