ABSTRACT
The article reports on a judge's refusal to release documents pertaining to a business relationship between the San Francisco Chronicle (SFC) newspaper and the owner of a number of California Bay Area daily newspapers. The Oakland based Media Alliance and the San Francisco Bay Guardian requested the records in a lawsuit against the Denver, Colorado based MediaNews Group and Hearst Corp, who owns the SFC.
