ABSTRACT
The article discusses the author's experience of being a forestor in Great Britain. He conveyed that there are two kinds of field visible from his window including the old village field specified by dry-stone walls, and those derived from the enclosures of nineteenth Century. His five-acre field has three enclosures which are worthy of archeological exploration. They had formed a rampart protecting its ancient field boundary. He could guess that the ash in his field is perhaps 140 years old.
