ABSTRACT
The article presents the fourth quarter 2006 report and outlook of service industry executives in the steel industry in the U.S. Industry executives discussed their plans to deal with excess inventories that affected profitability. Metals USA Inc. chief executive officer (CEO) Lourenco Goncalves revealed that his company is experiencing a smooth flow of operations and has not encountered inventory problems. Olympic Steel Inc. also reported growth in sales and profits.
