The article features the work of the Instrumentation Systems and Automation (ISA)-SP100 Wireless Systems for Automation committee, specifically the outreach work of the ISA-SP100 Marketing Work Group to gather use-case information from a broad base of end users. The charter of ISA-SP100 is to establish standards and recommended practices for implementing wireless systems in automation and control environments. A use-case is a description of a wireless technology process or task an end user feels could be implemented more effectively and efficiently.
