ABSTRACT
The article reports that China's government is re-evaluating an assessment of risks facing the country if nothing is done to reduce global warming. The risks include crop shortages, increasing floods in the rich coastal river deltas and higher energy use to cool off from increasingly warmer weather. The article reports that China is the world's second biggest producer of greenhouse gases. But Beijing is already targeting to reduce its emissions by 10% and has also embraced carbon credits, the program under the Kyoto Protocol.
